New and Seasonal Releases

Big Time Brewing
Ave. Rat Malt Liquor
In celebration of "Brew Year's Eve" in early April (a Brewers Association promotion commemorating the conditional Repeal of Prohibition to allow the production of low-alcohol beer beginning in April of 1933, before the official repeal in December of that year), Big Time brewed a strong, pre-Prohibition West Coast-style lager with the Anchor yeast and some flaked corn for flavor authenticity (though, more accurately, rice would probably have been used around SF). The Big Time brewer Bill chose corn for both its (modern) flavor contribution and the "corniness" it would lend to a craft-brewed interpretation of malt liquor. It is set to be released during the American Craft Beer Week (another BA promotion) which begins on May 15th which also happens to be the week leading up to the University District Street Fair, on May 19-20.

Firecracker
A Northwest Pale Ale that has everything you might expect in one: fiery orange color, full body, moderate strength, and a healthy dose of NW hops (Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Willamette). Around 5.25% ABV. The beer was brewed to honor Aurora, one of Big Time’s long time kitchen employees, who (unfortunately) just left to work over at Whole Foods. It is feisty, full-bodied, and not to be messed with!

Old Sol Wheatwine
Big Time’s summertime barleywine style ale, introduced in 2002, Old Sol is available on tap and in bottles to go. The 2003 Old Sol won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival. This summertime version of Barleywine made with 46% wheat and Warrior, Simcoe & Amarillo hops will be a sure winner. OG 23.6 Plato 1.100 SG 9.75% ABV. Brewed on the Lunar New Year, Tapped on the Summer Solstice. Also available in 22oz bottles for a limited time only.

Elysian Brewing Co.
Avatar Jasmine IPA
Now available on draught at all three Elysians and select draught accounts. Also available in bottles.

Elliott Bay Brewing
Von Boorian Line
Elliott Bay took on a brewing challenge in 2007...managing a Belgian yeast strain. We've brewed recipes at each of the pubs on an alternating basis in an effort to keep the yeast active and viable, including a hoppy Belgian pale ale called Hop von Boorian and Noir von Boorian, a Belgian black ale. Others soon to be pourning in both the West Seattle and Burien pubs include: Pale von Boorian (a dry-hopped De Koninck knock-off), Red von Boorian (sour-ish Belgian red ale), Wit von Boorian (spiced w/ corriander and zest of citrus fruits), and Blonde von Boorian (a la Leffe Blond).

Other Current Seasonals:

Klondike Gold
a hoppy summer ale from the West Seattle pub

Golden Promise
a wedding ale brewed w/ local West Seattle wildflower honey and Kent Golding hops

and coming soon...

Olde Burien 800
a perverse attempt at replicating the infamous malt liquor style

Anniversary Ale #10
the culmination of a decade of brewing in West Seattle. 10 hop additions from 10 different brewers. released the week of July 13.

Fish Brewing Co.
Fish Tale Blonde
A very drinkable summer seasonal. At 4% ABV and a small addition of Rye to give a spicy taste without too much hops. It’s a great summer thirst quencher and one of Fish’s best selling draft brands year 'round.

Hale’s Ales Brewery
Kolsh Ale
Kolsch Ale represents a departure from Hale's British style beers. A traditional beer of Cologne, Germany, it is a golden, lighter ale with a delicious flavor derived from its special yeast.

Drawbridge Blonde
Easy to drink, yet definitely interesting, this "junior I.P.A." has a pleasing malt backbone that interplays with crisp hop influences. Perfect for a sunny summer day, a misty spring day, a backyard barbeque or a couch with a good book -- in other words, this friendly brew fits in just about anywhere. Enjoy!

Pike Brewing Co.
BSB (Bob’s Special Bitter)/FSB (Finkel’s Special Bitter),
An authentic English Special Bitter brewed for Latona Pub’s 20th anniversary, featuring Maris Otter floor malted pale malt; Willamette hops (Fuggle's American cousin), with 58 IBU's of bitterness from Magnum, Nugget, Willamette, and Northern Brewer hops.  5.8% ABV.

Please also note that Pike's Monks Uncle Tripel ale (available in 22oz bottles) is disappearing fast!  Hurry up a secure a case for your cellar today!

Port Townsend Brewing Co.
Hop Diggidy
Hops spring eternal with Port Townsend’s newest India Pale Ale. Give your mouth a blast of hops with this unique crisp ale. 5.5% ABV.

Snoqualmie Falls Brewing Co.
Haystack Hefeweizen
Rande Reed's latest (and best) interpretation of a cloudy Northwest wheat ale. He uses 60% wheat in the malt bill then ferments it with our American ale yeast for a beer with a clean, mellow flavor and citrus & spice overtones. This beer is being released to the wider public on draft in June, but you can preview it at the Snoqualmie taproom, at Dexter Hayes Public House in Seattle, and at upcoming festivals.

Summer Beer
Available May 1st. Snoqualmie’s pre-prohibition, alt-style pilsner is the perfect warm weather brew, with its crisp flavor and spicy Saaz hops. Light in color and body, but not in flavor, this is not your Father's lawnmower beer.
