Floating Bridge Brewing now open in Seattle
July 27, 2016 - 9:09 AM- by Kendall Jones, Washington Beer Blog -
Very quietly, Seattle’s newest brewery opened its doors on July 21st. Floating Bridge Brewing is located in the University District at the corner of NE 45th Street and 8th Ave. NE. It is very near the legendary Blue Moon Tavern, in the spot that some oldsters might remember as the former home of the Rainbow Tavern (legendary music venue).
The opening lineup included Cascadian Dark Ale, Amber, IPA, Bitter, Juniper Bitter, and a Wheat beer.
According to the company website, “We are a family-owned, family-run artisan brewery. We are excited to be a part of the Renaissance in brewing that is unleashing the creativity of brewers and putting fresh, local beer within walking distance of more and more beer lovers. We have big dreams of staying small and preserving the homebrewing spirit of experimentation, quality and camaraderie.”
The family-friendly taproom is open Thursdays and Fridays 3:00 – 9:00, Saturdays and Sundays 11:00 – 9:00. I’m headed there today (Sat. July 23) and will add more info to this post.
I’m here now and the beer is good. Seriously, I’m impressed. The CDA is my favorite, IPA is solid, the Juniper Bitter is interesting, with botanical flavores reminiscent of gin. Brewed on a ten-barrel system from JV Northwest. Good stuff.
The taproom is lovely, the brewery is shiny and new. NOTICE: No cash bar! Cards only! Dog- and kid-friendly
