As we reported some time ago, Bellingham's Chuckanut Brewery build a second brewery and taproom in Burlington, near the Skagit Regional Airport. They opened the taproom in October but just announced that they have started brewing at the new facility, which the company refers to as "South Nut." Not only does this mean that there's a new beer destination for you to visit, but it also means that before long we'll start seeing more Chuckanut beer around the Puget Sound area. Cheers to that!

Here's the word from the brewery.
Yay, it's finally started! After so many delays we have started brewing at South Nut. First up is our world famous Pilsner Lager. The first four tanks will take our Pilsner to help us feed the demand of so many that would like to drink it at their favorite places around the Sound. Once we get a good jump on that we'll be working out what to brew next. North Nut continues to brew our Kolsch and specialty styles but Pilsner will be brewed at South Nut. If you haven't been over to our Tap Room at the Port of Skagit come in on a Wednesday when the brewers are making their magic and watch them through the brewhouse plate glass windows!
