In a previous post I told you about an event that celebrates beer’s more cerebral side – Explore Your Craft, presented by Widmer and Draft Magazine. Just up the street at Elysian Fields, at just about the same time, the Elysian Brewing Company will celebrate the release of a new beer: Mens Room Black.
While Elysian is always serious about beer (kind of), the guys on KISW’s Mens Room (the afternoon radio show) are not exactly cerebral or sophisticated. I imagine they’d be the first to admit it. That doesn’t mean they’re stupid or careless. In fact, they are just the opposite. Working in conjunction, Elysian and KISW have been using Mens Room Original Red as a tool to raise funds for a very worthy cause: our nation’s wounded warriors and their families. Since 2009, proceeds from the sale of Men’s Room Red have amounted to more than $200,000 in donations to the Fisher House, which provides a “home away from home” for families of Veterans receiving care at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System and families of active duty personnel who have loved ones in other area facilities.
This Thursday, Elysian will release Mens Room Black, an Imperial Red Ale that will be available in limited quantities through the holiday season. Be the first to taste the new beer at The Mens Room Black Tasting Party on November 15th at Elysian Fields. This event is free and open to the public, 21+ only. The Mens Room Guys will be there starting at 8:00 p.m. You can pick up bottles of Mens Room Black and Mens Room Original Red six packs in the limited edition packaging designed by Nick Cochran.
Be one of the very first people to try The Mens Room Black. The guys from the Mens Room are holding a private tasting of the beer at 7:30 p.m. Your ticket includes dinner at Elysian Fields, two bottles of Mens Room Original Black, one six pack of Mens Room Original Red, a Mens Room Original Red Glass, a Mens Room Original Red Drinking Team Shirt, all for $110. There are very limited number of tickets. Click here to purchase your ticket.Filed under: National Beer News, Washington Beer News
